Jorge Bosso was born Jorge
Óscar Bosso Cuello in Argentina in 1941. At twenty-two he left his
home country to London, with a scholarship to study drama. In London he worked as an actor and producer
for the BBC, and soon collaborated with the English union within the host
committee of the South American exiles. He then spent twenty-six years in
Spain, eighteen of which were involved in trade unionism, always within the art
world.
He’s appeared in over 60
films and television appearances beginning with an appearance in the British TV
series ‘Play for Today’ in 1975, using the alias Giorgio Bosso.
Given his experience in
trade unionism in Spain, Bosso was a naturally selected to set up the CCOO and
UGT Argentinian actors unions when they began to take shape.
In addition to his
membership in this organization he holds the positions of secretary general of
the Federation of Spanish Actors and is also President of the European Council
of Artists, which is headquartered in Copenhagen.
