Happy 75th Birthday Adriana Giuffre


Adriana Giuffrè was born on March 9, 1939 in Rome, Italy. Daughter of the actress Gianna Giuffre [1916-1998], Adriana followed in her footsteps as an actress in the film world. She debuted very young with small appearances in “I soliti ignoti” and “Nella città l'inferno”. In the early 1960s she appeared in historical films which were filmed at Cinecitta, such as “I baccanali di Tiberio” and “The Loves of Hercules”.
 
In 1961 she participated in the Exhibition of the Venice Film Festival with the film “Le italiane e l'amore”. In 1967 she played the wife of Leopoldo Trieste, in Alberto Sordi’s film withIl medico della mutual”.
 
In the following years she appeared in seven Spaghetti Westerns such as “Any Gun Can Play” “The Great Silence”, “Viva Django” (all 1967), and “Shango” (1970). Her cinema of the 1980s was in Italian comedy: “Casta e pura”, “Innamorato pazzo”,Bello mio bellezza mia”, “Dio li fa e poi l'accoppia sono” are just some of the titles that she is seen in the cast. In 1987 she took part in a television mini-series “E non se ne vogliono” with Virna Lisi and Turi Ferro.
 
During her career she worked with such famous directors as Federico Fellini, Luigi Zampa , Marco Ferreri and Salvatore Samperi , and with many stars among which are: Totò, Ugo Tognazzi, Monica Vitti, Klaus Kinski, Johnny Dorelli, Sandra Mondaini, Paolo Villaggio, and Franco Franchi and Ciccio Ingrassia.
