Happy 70th Birthday Marilu Tolo


Maria Lucia ‘Marilù’ Tolo was born on January 16, 1944 in Rome, Lazio, Italy. Marilù began her career as a model for such well-known designers as Valentino. She made her acting debut on television when she was little more than a teenager as an assistant to Mario Riva, she is also the only Italian actress to have full participation as a "guest star" in the cult series ‘Charlie's Angels’ (in the episode ‘Fallen Angel’ (1979)).
 
Her cinema debut came in 1960, with the participation in the filmUrlatori alla sbarra”, her filmography consists of dozens of films belonging mainly to genre films, although there are exceptions which consist of some art-house films like “Juliet of the Spirits” (1965) by Federico Fellini, Vittorio De Sica's “Marriage Italian Style” (1964) and “Sogni e bisogni” (1985) by Sergio Citti . Marilu appeared in three Euro-westerns: “Django Kills” (1966), “Roy Colt and Winchester Jack” (1970) and “Long Live Your Death” (1971)
 
Marilù’s last screen appearance was in 2001 when she took part in the documentary - short “Superman: Screen Tests”.
 
Today we celebrate Marilù Tolo’s 70th birthday.

  1. I saw her on a Tonight Show rerun the other night, circa 1980. She had possibly the most gorgeous hair I've ever seen. Seemed like a very sweet person.
