Happy 50th Birthday Renato Cestie

Renato Cestiè was born January 11, 1963 in Rome, Lazio, Italy. He was Italy's top child star of the 1970s. His best known work was in tear-jerkers such as “The Last Snows of Spring” (1973), where he would play a neglected child who, most often, would die of disease by the end of the film. Despite their grim themes, these films were successful and spawned many imitators. Several of Cestiè's movies were also popular in the UK, where they were released by GTO Films. Cestie appeared in six Euro-westerns from ”It Can Be Done Amigo” (1971) with Bud Spencer and Jack Palance to “We Are No Angels” (1976) with John Ireland, Woody Strode and Paul Smith.

In his adult career he mostly worked on television. After a part on the sitcom ‘I ragazzi della 3ª C’ (1987-1989), he retired from acting and opened a gym. Since then he’s appeared in a few films in the early 1990s the last being “Le nuove comiche” in 1994. Today we celebrate Renato Cestiè’s 50th birthday.
